Because the Little Moments Become the Big Ones

Congratulations on your new arrival! What a beautiful and exciting time in your life! I’m so honoured you’re here and considering me to capture these precious early moments. At Lyndsey Ayres Photography, newborn sessions are gentle, relaxed and completely baby-led. There’s plenty of time for cuddles, feeds, and nappy changes, with no rush, just calm, quiet moments in my peaceful studio space.

Timeless Style

While your little one is safely and lovingly photographed, you can sit back with a cup of tea or coffee and simply soak it all in. I always encourage mum and dad to step in for a few photos too, because these memories aren’t just about your baby, they’re about you and the incredible love that surrounds them.

Newborn sessions typically last between 2–4 hours, allowing us to move at your baby’s pace and keep the experience as calm and enjoyable as possible. The ideal time to photograph your baby is between day 7 and 16 after birth, when they’re still wonderfully sleepy and curled up, perfect for those soft, natural poses.

To ensure your place in the diary, I recommend booking your newborn session from 20 weeks into your pregnancy. This secures time both before and after your due date, as we know babies like to arrive on their own schedule! Once your little one has arrived, just send me a message and we’ll confirm the perfect date for you to come in.

FAQ

What age should my baby be?

The best time to capture these precious memories is when your baby is between just 7-14 days old. They are lovely and new and super sleepy so we can get some beautiful sleepy pictures.

How long will the session take?

Allow 2-4 hours for your newborn session. We work around your baby and allow time if your baby needs to feed, be settled, fall back to sleep, nappy changes and cuddles! The session is likely to be one of your first outings after your baby has arrived and we want it to be a wonderful experience. A mini session, that is baby only will take 60 minutes.

What should my baby wear?

All wraps, headbands and props are provided but if wrapped images aren't for you, a plain neutral baby grow or short sleeved vest that fits your baby is recommended.

When will my images be ready?

The images will be ready for you to view in an online proof gallery within two weeks of your session. Here you can choose which images you would like to download and if you would like to purchase any extra images. There is no obligation to purchase any more, more information about this can be found on my pricing page.

When should i book?

Ideally you need to book during your pregnancy from around your 20 weeks scan date as my diary fills up very fast. At this point, I keep the slots around your due date free. Once your little bundle of joy arrives, let me know and we will arrange for you to come for your session between those first 7-14 days. I'll be super excited to meet you and your new baby!

How do i book?

Simply fill out your details and due date on the contact page and I will get back to you to arrange your session.
